Follow these instructions to setup and verify the operation of the USB8x8 audio interfaceBefore you begin, make sure that no other applications that use the sound device are running.
* Plug the USB audio device into a USB port of a Windows 7 computerWindows will attempt to load drivers for the device and may give you an error stating that the device will not function properly.
 
* Open the Device Manager and look under the USB controllers group to find a device labeled "USB Composite Device".  Verify you have the correct device by right clicking on the device name and select Properties. Click the Details tab and select the Property for Hardware Ids - the vendor ID (VID) for all eMDee USB products will be 1A11 as shown in the image below:

USB8x8 Setup and Verification

Follow these instructions to setup and verify the operation of the USB8x8 audio interface. Before you begin, make sure that no other applications that use the sound device are running.

  • Open the Sound Control Panel by right-clicking the Windows Start button and selecting Control Panel.
  • Select Hardware and Sound from the Control Panel, then select Sound from the next window.
  • From the Sound Control Panel select the Playback tab - you should see devices similar to this:

  • Right-click on USB 8x8 [0] Chan 3-4 and select Properties
  • Click the Levels tab and set the volume level as shown below:

  • Close the Line Out Properties window by clicking OK.
  • From the Sound Control Panel select the Recording tab - you should see sound devices similar to this:

  • Right-click on USB 8x8 [0] Chan 3-4 and select Properties
  • Click the Levels tab and set the volume levels as shown below:

  • Click the Listen tab.
  • Click the checkbox for Listen to this device.
  • Use the drop-list below Playback through this device: to select Line Out (USB 8x8[0] Chan 3-4).
  • Click Apply.

  • You should now be able to hear inputs 3 & 4 being routed to outputs 3 & 4 (e.g. speak into the microphone and you should hear your voice in the headset with a slight delay).
  • While listening, you can go back to the Levels tab and adjust the Line In Volume as necessary.
